For your final paper, you will revise both your publishs and combine them to form a complete scientific paper with Title, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Literature Cited.
As you work on preparing your final paper, make sure that you are taking your TA’s suggestions into account and editing your paper. Re-writing is as important step in good writing as the initial publishing process. The final paper is worth 75 points total, so it is a substantial assignment. If you are continuing on in a biology and wildlife degree, this type of paper is one you will continue to write, so the things you are working on here will give you a good foundation to build on in future courses.

For this assignment, you will briefly report the findings of the two photosynthesis experiments you carried out. This is NOT a scientific paper, but you will include a few elements that are also found in a scientific paper. You have already done most of the work for this assignment – you previously wrote hypotheses and predictions for both photosynthesis experiments, and you have already made both graphs. Here, you will revise those if needed, and use the results shown in your graphs to evaluate both hypotheses. In total, this is only 3 paragraphs and both your graphs.
1. Review your hypothesis and predictions for each experiment and our feedback on them. You received feedback on your hypothesis and predictions for the effect of light in the assignment “Lab – Photosynthesis Experiment Background,” and you received feedback on both your graphs. If you provided your hypothesis and predictions with your second graph (the one on the variable your group decided to test), you also received feedback on those as part of that assignment. Write a single paragraph that includes a well-written hypothesis and predictions for each of the two photosynthesis experiments. Remember that each hypothesis should address the mechanism behind it.
2. Make any necessary revisions to your graphs and put both of them after your hypotheses and predictions. You will need to number your graphs “Figure 1” and “Figure 2” for this assignment.
3. Evaluate each of your hypotheses using the experimental results. Write a separate paragraph for each experiment. When you evaluate the hypothesis, be sure to state whether it was supported or rejected by the experiment, and briefly explain why. Your explanation should refer to things that are shown in your graph and tell me why those things support your conclusion about your hypothesis. For each hypothesis, also briefly explain how the results make sense based on what you know about biology (how photosynthesis works, how enzymes work, etc.). You do NOT need to provide any references for this. You will need to expand on what you submitted when you evaluated each hypotheses based on the experimental results.
